Traffic routeing

In the Hanover metropolitan area, all visitors travelling to Hanover by car are either guided via the motorway or the trade fair expressway routes to the trade fair grounds. The traffic navigation is part of a unique network of traffic technology. It includes:

  • The traffic influences on the BAB 2 and BAB 7 motorways
  • Alternative route postings at motorway intersections
  • The traffic navigation systems on the trade fair grounds
  • The car-park routeing system on the Messering (trade fair access road)

The content shown in the traffic signs and signals is based on the electronically determined and calculated traffic data. In this fashion, disruptions in traffic can be immediately recognised and the optimal routes to and from the trade fair grounds can be displayed. You'll find an overview of the travel routes and parking in the right-hand column. The PDF file can be downloaded.

Use of on-board navigation systems

As your destination, please enter the "Hermesallee" in Hanover. This street lies to the north of the trade fair grounds.

Low-emission zone (emissions sticker)

Hanover isn't just an environmentally conscious trade fair city, but also - since 1 January 2008 along with Berlin and Cologne - a city with a low-emission zone, through which a reduced level of particulate matter should be reached.

The low-emission zone encompasses large areas of the city centre within the motorway ring and is displayed through the use of signs that warn of entering a low-emission zone.

In this zone, only cars that have an emissions sticker or fulfil one of the exceptions can enter this zone.
